Biography of Farhad Mann:
Award-winning director and writer, Farhad Mann, has made a significant mark in both feature films and television. He holds a Master's Film Degree with Distinction from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Mann's student film, Frames, gained widespread recognition, winning an Emmy and 17 international First Place awards, including the prestigious New York Film Festival. Notably, the film caught the attention of Lee Strasberg, who invited Mann to study in his Master's Program. Under Strasberg's guidance, Mann directed several theatrical productions.
In his professional career, Mann created the visual effects, wrote, and directed the feature film, Lawnmower Man 2, for New Line Cinema. He also directed the critically acclaimed Face of Fear, based on the Dean Koontz best-selling novel, and MOW for CBS.
Mann's television work includes directing the pilot, Max Headroom, which received top-notch ratings and won several Emmy awards. His subsequent pilots, Knight Watch and Nick Knight, were picked up by ABC and CBS, respectively. The latter, Nick Knight, became the long-running Forever Knight.
In addition to his television work, Mann has directed numerous commercials for prominent clients, such as Pepsi, Toyota, McDonald's, Coors, American Express, Chevrolet, Budweiser, and Coke, among others. His commercials have garnered an impressive 57 international awards, including three Clio Awards, the Chicago Film Festival, the IBA Award, and the New York Film Festival.
Currently, Mann is in post-production on his feature film, Love Orchard. He has recently completed episodes of Degrassi and My Babysitter is a Vampire for Disney. Notable projects include directing The Devil's Diary, which became the highest-rated Movie-of-the-Week of that year, as well as directing several shows for the Sci-Fi Channel, the internationally acclaimed Regenesis, and the award-winning Murdoch, now in its sixth season.
