Person Biography:
Field Cate, a talented individual with a rich family history in the entertainment industry, has made a name for himself in the field. His great-aunt, Esther Ralston, was a successful silent film actress, earning a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His great-grandmother, Marjorie Ralston, was the original voice of Minnie Mouse, and his grandfather was a regular performer on The Lawrence Welk Show.
Born and raised on the East Coast, Field began his journey in the entertainment industry at a young age, performing in musical theater and dance productions by the time he was three years old. By four, his family had moved back to their hometown in Los Angeles, where his entertainment roots began to take hold. Turning professional at the age of five, Field started doing improv with an L.A. comedy troupe and soon booked print work, independent films, and industrials.
As his career progressed, Field became known for his dramatic roles on popular TV shows such as Without a Trace and Cold Case. He also landed a series-regular role on ABC's critically acclaimed Pushing Daisies, earning a Young Artist Award nomination in 2008.
In addition to his on-screen work, Field lent his voice to the popular Disney DVDs Space Buddies, Santa Buddies, and Treasure Buddies, playing the role of a Golden Retriever puppy named Buddha. He was also honored with an invitation to work with Amy Brenneman and Esai Morales in a Sundance Screenplay Reading in 2009.
Field's charitable pursuits include speaking out on behalf of PETA, serving as a StarPower Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation, and lending his support to organizations such as Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
As an adult, Field is pursuing his passion for music as the lead singer and guitarist of the three-piece rock band Fencer, based in Los Angeles.
