Filip Čapka's life's trajectory was predetermined, with the arts deeply ingrained in his family's fabric. His grandparents, in particular, were ardent patrons of the creative world, fostering an environment where artistic expression was nurtured and encouraged.
In the year 2002, a significant event transpired in the life of Filip, as he found himself in the picturesque city of Prague, initially scheduled for a brief filmmaking project, but ultimately, his sojourn would prove to be a life-changing experience. One day, while taking a leisurely stroll through the historic Prague Castle, he stumbled upon the Summer Shakespeare Festival, where the theater under Palmovka was presenting a captivating production of the renowned play, KING LEAR.
As fate would have it, Alexej Pyško, a prominent figure in the Czech theater scene, approached Filip with an extraordinary offer - to alternate the role of Jiří Langmajer, a character from the aforementioned play. Without hesitation, Filip accepted the challenge, and his impressive performance not only earned him a spot on the coveted audition list for the prestigious Divadlo Bez zábradlí but also marked the beginning of his successful career in Prague. Subsequently, he went on to experience a string of triumphs, including being awarded the esteemed Thalia Award in 2004 for his outstanding contribution to the world of theater as the best young actor under the age of 33.
Once having established a strong presence in the capital, Filip was afforded a plethora of opportunities to showcase his talents in front of the camera. He took on the esteemed role of Michelangelo in the hockey-themed television series, aptly titled THE LAST SEASON, and also made appearances in a variety of television films.
In addition to his burgeoning film career, Filip decided to take on a new and exciting challenge as the moderator for the popular children's program, HŘIŠTĚ 7, which airs on Czech Television. Furthermore, he has also been involved in the world of dubbing, lending his voice to the character of Owain Yeoman in the critically acclaimed series MENTALISTA, as well as a character in the highly anticipated puppet film, KUKY SE VRACÍ, directed by the renowned Svěrák.
Filip made his big-screen debut in 2010, marking the beginning of his illustrious career in the film industry. This milestone event occurred with the release of "MAMAS & PAPAS", a movie skillfully directed by the talented Alice Nellis. Additionally, Filip's debut year saw him take on the role of a lifetime in the tragicomic adaptation of Michal Viewegh's novel, "ROMÁN PRO MUŽE".
