Frano Lasic was born in the Croatian city of Rijeka.
He completed his elementary and high school education in Dubrovnik, where he also attended the music school and specialized in guitar. From a young age, he collaborated with the Dubrovnik theater, initially as a freelancer and later as a permanent member.
After completing his high school education, Lasic enrolled in marine engineering and graduated in 1978. That same year, he made his acting debut in the feature film "Occupation in 26 Pictures" directed by Lordan Zafranovic. The film went on to be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival and numerous other festivals, and Lasic received the award for best male role at the Actor's Festival in Nis.
Since then, he has appeared in over 60 films and TV series, both domestically and internationally, and has received numerous awards and honors.
In 1984, Lasic recorded an LP with composer Djelo Jusic, which earned him a silver, gold, and platinum record in the former Yugoslavia. The following year, he received the award for most popular person in show-business in Yugoslavia.
He then successfully passed the rigorous English language skills exam at the American Language Institute at Georgetown University and received a Fulbright scholarship for a film project. In 1984, he went to Los Angeles and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),where he specialized in film production and acting.
Lasic spent six years in the United States, during which time he met many people from the show business and founded the company "Euro-film Production Services," which provides production services for film and television companies. He then returned to his homeland and continued to work in the film industry.
With "Euro-Film," Lasic provided services for films and TV series for national television and also produced films. One of his notable productions was the film "The Harms case," which represented Yugoslavia at the Cannes Film Festival in the late 1980s and received numerous awards at festivals around the world.
In recent years, Lasic has recorded various TV shows, including "Flying Start," "Willy-Nilly," "Modelle," "That's My Stuff," and others, for local TV stations in Croatia and neighboring countries.
Throughout his career, Lasic has been a member of the Croatian Film Workers (DFRH) since 1978 and has held the status of an independent artist with the Society of Croatian Artists (ZUH) for 35 years.
