Freya's journey in the film and theatre industries in New Zealand began at a tender age, with extensive training in ballet, contemporary dance, and musical theatre since she was just three years old. Her dedication to her craft was further nurtured by renowned acting coach Miranda Harcourt, whom she worked with since the age of 11 to hone her acting and accent skills.
At the tender age of 10, Freya's talent was spotted by the Disney channel, and she landed her first role as a presenter. This early success was followed by her debut in Sir Peter Jackson's 'The Lovely Bones' (2009),where she played the role of Jackie Meyer. Over the next few years, Freya appeared in a steady stream of lead and supporting roles in commercials for both New Zealand and American audiences, including a notable Smokefree ad directed by Taika Waititi and a Verizon ad directed by Garth Davis (2012).
As she entered her final year of school, Freya landed the lead role of Cissy Smith in the TVNZ 6-part miniseries 'When We Go To War' (2015),commemorating a century since World War I. She took a gap year to complete this project, which marked a significant milestone in her career.
In recent years, Freya has continued to work on various projects, including several web series and short films. One of her most notable recent roles was in the 10-part series 'Bright Summer Night' (2016) by The Candle Wasters.
In addition to her on-screen work, Freya has also worked behind the scenes, taking on production assistant, casting, and consulting roles. Her expertise has been sought after for character perspectives in upcoming films, including "The Changeover" directed by Miranda Harcourt and Stuart McKenzie.
