G. Suresh Kumar is a renowned Indian film producer and actor, widely recognized for his work in films such as Poochakkorumookuthi and Araam Thamburan. Through his production company, Revathy Kalamandhir, founded in 1993, Kumar has been instrumental in producing over 32 Malayalam films.
Born on November 15, 1959, in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, to M.G. Nayar and M.S. Sharada, Kumar pursued his Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Kerala University, Trivandrum. He later married Menaka Suresh, a celebrated South Indian actress who has appeared in more than 125 films. The couple has two daughters, Keerthy Suresh and Revathy Suresh. Keerthy Suresh is also an actress, having received a National Award for Best Actress in 2019, while Revathy Suresh is an associate director, working under the renowned filmmaker Priyadarsan.
Kumar's journey in the film industry began as an assistant director in the 1978 Malayalam feature film Thiranottam. By 1982, he transitioned to producing feature films under the banner Sooryodaya Creations. Subsequently, he established his current production company, Revathy Kalaamandhir, and produced approximately 32 Malayalam-language films.
In addition to his work as a producer, Kumar has also ventured into acting, making his debut in 2017. As of 2021, he has appeared in 21 films as an actor.
