Gabriel Darku, a talented individual, was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, and spent his formative years in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. His early life was marked by a strong athletic background, with a notable stint as a national-level gymnast in grade school. Additionally, he developed a passion for music, showcasing his skills on the saxophone in high school concerts and jazz bands, as well as teaching himself to play the guitar and drums.
Gabriel's fascination with acting began when he was selected for a McDonald's commercial in 2012, after participating in a contest for employees to appear on camera. Following a successful audition process, he was one of seven individuals chosen for the commercial, which aired during the 2012 London Olympics. This experience sparked a desire within him to pursue acting as a professional career.
He subsequently relocated to Toronto, where he further nurtured his passion by enrolling in the Toronto Film School. Upon graduating in 2015, Gabriel immediately immersed himself in the industry, auditioning for various roles. By the end of that year, he had secured bookings on multiple projects and achieved union status.
Gabriel's breakthrough role came when he was cast as a lead character in Reboot: The Guardian Code (YTV/Netflix). Since then, he has appeared in a range of notable film and television productions, including Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (Freeform/Netflix),Private Eyes (Global),American Gods (Starz/Amazon Prime),Slasher (Netflix),Impulse (Youtube Premium),and others.
Most recently, Gabriel can be seen playing the role of Geoff Allen in the highly anticipated Netflix series October Faction, which follows the adventures of a retired monster-hunter and his family.
