Gabrielle Scharnitzky is a multilingual German actress with East Prussian roots, born in a small Bavarian town. Her acting journey began with a brief appearance in Arthur Penn's Target in the 1980s. Since then, she has taken on a diverse range of characters in German and international film and television productions.
Gabrielle has a knack for playing complex and diverse roles, such as the Grand Lady in Mesmer, opposite Alan Rickman, and the mysterious Shaila in The Nativity Story. She has also excelled in high-energy action roles, performing her own stunts as the Russian patriot Petra in Treadstone and appearing alongside Charlie Hunnam in Apple TV's Shantaram.
On the small screen, Gabrielle is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Sophie von Brahmberg, the fiery villain in the hit German series Verliebt in Berlin (Ugly Betty),which won a German TV Award and is still airing. She has also played fierce women in Devils, Love Addicts, and as a slave in Roland Emmerich's sword-and-sandal series Those About to Die.
