Garett Maggart, a second-generation performer, was exposed to the world of acting at a young age by watching his father, actor Brandon Maggart. This early exposure sparked a passion within Garett, which led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Garett's first role was a small appearance in the 1982 film "The World According to Garp," in which he played alongside the legendary Robin Williams. At the age of nine, Garett's talent was already being recognized, and he was given the opportunity to play a guest starring role on the groundbreaking Showtime series "Brothers" in 1984. This experience further solidified his desire to become an actor, and he went on to pursue a successful career in television and film.
Garett's notable roles include his portrayal of "Weird Bruce," a radio producer on the highly acclaimed series "Frasier" in 1993. He also had a recurring role on the NBC daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" and was a host for the cable-TV musical variety series "Live From the House of Blues." This role allowed Garett to showcase his musical talents, as he is an accomplished guitarist and drummer.
In addition to his television work, Garett has appeared in several films, including the independent feature "Demon Under Glass" in 2002, in which he played the role of "Dr. Joe McKay" for director Jon Cunningham. He also had a recurring role on the NBC series "ER," opposite Academy Award-winning actress Sally Field.
Most recently, Garett has completed work on the Universal Pictures feature "Because I Said So," starring Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore. The film is currently in postproduction and is slated for a February 2007 release.
