Gavin, a renowned creator, writer, show runner, and executive producer, hails from Australia. He has made significant contributions to numerous New Zealand and international television shows.
Recently, he co-created and wrote the hit series Bad Mothers for Channel 9 in Australia, which was produced in collaboration with his own company, Filthy Productions. Additionally, he co-created, show ran, and wrote Hyde & Seek, another successful series that aired on Channel 9 in Australia and New Zealand.
Gavin was also the co-creator and writer of two series of Filthy Rich for Filthy Productions. The show has gained international recognition, and a US adaptation is currently in the works, directed and written by Tate Taylor.
As a screenwriter and executive producer, Gavin worked on historical telemovies, What Really Happened - Votes For Women and What Really Happened - Waitangi, which aired on TV One.
Gavin's impressive portfolio includes co-creating the popular television series Go Girls and Nothing Trivial, as well as show running and writing the critically acclaimed This Is Not My Life.
He co-wrote the feature film Matariki, directed by Michael Bennett, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2010.
Gavin's earlier work includes creating and writing the internationally acclaimed series Being Eve, which was nominated for an International Emmy Award and won a New York Gold Medal. His other credits include Kaitangata Twitch, Burying Brian, Maddigan's Quest, Mercy Peak, The Chosen, Jackson's Wharf, the Lawless telemovies, and the UK CBBC series Living It.
Before his extensive work in television, Gavin worked as the first script editor and head writer for the popular New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street from 1992 to 1994. He later produced the series in 1995.
