Olugbenga Enitan Temitope Akinnagbe, a multifaceted American actor and writer, has made a lasting impression on the entertainment industry through his remarkable performances in HBO series such as The Wire and The Deuce.
Born in Washington, D.C., Akinnagbe is the son of Yoruba Nigerian parents, and was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, where he spent his formative years surrounded by a loving family. He is the second oldest of six siblings, comprising one older sister and four younger brothers, and holds a unique distinction as the first in his family to be born in the United States.
Akinnagbe's academic journey took him to Colonel Zadok A. Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland, where he laid the foundation for his future success. He then attended Bucknell University on a wrestling scholarship, and in 2000, he graduated with a degree in Political Science and English.
