Gerald Jackson Jr., a Jacksonville, Florida native, was born with an innate passion for the art of filmmaking, a fascination that would only continue to grow and evolve as he navigated the early years of his life. As he progressed through his academic journey, Gerald's enthusiasm for the craft remained unwavering, ultimately leading him to pursue an undergraduate degree in Broadcast/Film at the University of North Florida.
During his time at the University, Gerald had the opportunity to hone his skills and gain valuable experience in the industry by contributing to the production of the television series "Safe Harbor". This experience not only further solidified his passion for filmmaking but also provided him with a unique perspective on the inner workings of the industry. Additionally, his appearance in Joel Schumacher's "Tigerland" served as a testament to his versatility as a performer, further showcasing his range and capabilities.
Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Gerald continued to pursue his passion for filmmaking by attending Columbia University in New York City, where he earned a degree in Film Studies. This additional education not only allowed him to delve deeper into the theoretical aspects of filmmaking but also provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the art form, further equipping him to succeed in the competitive world of the film industry.
Gerald's academic journey continued with his acceptance into the esteemed Florida State University Film Conservatory in the year 2002, marking a significant milestone in his career. It was during his time at the conservatory that he had the opportunity to produce the film "Coochie", a notable project that boasted the talents of the accomplished actress Tyra Ferrell. Following his dedication and hard work, Gerald successfully earned his Master's degree in Film Production from the prestigious institution in August 2004.
Gerald is presently devoting a significant amount of his time and energy to the creative process of crafting complex, multi-act narratives for the big screen, simultaneously contributing to a diverse array of projects across various mediums.
