Gisela Ingrid Wimmer, born as twin sister Helga Brigitte, navigated a tumultuous childhood in war-torn Europe, living under the suffocating Russian communist rule in East Germany.
Their father, a courageous individual who refused to betray his fellow workers, faced deportation to Siberia. To escape this dire fate, the family fled to West Germany, where they encountered a less-than-welcoming reception from the locals, dubbed "Ost-Deutsche Flüchtlinge" or East German refugees. Despite the challenges, they found solace in America, where they sailed to New York on an Italian freighter and eventually settled in Philadelphia.
As Gisela entered her twenties, a visit to California left an indelible mark on her. The moment she stepped off the plane, she was captivated by the sunshine, palm trees, and the unique right-turn-on-red-light culture. This transformative experience led her to make Southern California her permanent home.
Gisela shares her life with Roger Dawson, an internationally acclaimed author of 17 business books and professional speaker, who has taught negotiating skills globally. His audio program, based on his book "Secrets of Power Negotiating," has achieved remarkable success, selling over $40 million worth.
Roger, the son of a London taxi driver, has traveled to approximately 120 countries, and Gisela has accompanied him on his speaking engagements, visiting nearly 80 countries. China has become one of their favorite destinations, where they have been treated like rock stars by the enthusiastic and appreciative audiences.
Gisela's personal life is filled with love and devotion to her five rescue dogs, whom she adores unconditionally. She is a passionate and social individual, enjoying book clubs, sailing, hiking, dinner parties, and theater events. Her musical tastes range from classical to Elvis and country, but her true passion lies in the rescue and care of abused dogs.
Throughout her professional career, Gisela worked as president of her own product placement agency, The Catalyst Group in Los Angeles, focusing on advertising and Branded Entertainment. Now retired, she has dedicated herself to acting, bringing her vast life experience to this new chapter.
Gisela's English is flawless, devoid of any accent, and she can effortlessly adopt an Eastern European dialect. She is also proficient in conversational Spanish and has a basic understanding of French, using correct pronunciation. Her public speaking skills, honed from Roger's guidance, have enabled her to address audiences ranging from 100 to 10,000, leaving a lasting impression on the Chinese crowds with her tales of Hollywood and the entertainment industry.
