As the offspring of William Marshall McConnell, born on April 28, 1876, in the picturesque McNairy County, Tennessee, and his wife Harriet Sharp, born on October 10, 1882, in the charming town of Newbern, Tennessee, Gladys was blessed with a rich family heritage. Within this family unit, Gladys was accompanied by a younger sister named Hazel, who would become an integral part of her life.

Gladys Morrow, a talented actress of the early 20th century, embarked upon a remarkable film career, which lasted for a concise yet significant period of approximately four years, spanning from the late silent film era to the early days of sound cinema, specifically between 1926 and 1930.
