Person Biography:
Gordon Ramsay was born in Scotland but grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He was forced to abandon his football career due to an injury and instead pursued a course in hotel management. He then trained with renowned chefs such as Albert Roux, Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy, and Joël Robuchon in London and France.
Ramsay's culinary career took off when he became the chef of Aubergine in London, which earned two Michelin stars within three years. He then opened his first wholly owned restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which received three Michelin stars at the age of 31. This achievement made him one of only four chefs in the UK to maintain three stars.
Ramsay's international fame grew as he opened successful restaurants across the globe, including two ventures in Doha, Qatar, and five restaurants in Las Vegas. He has also expanded his business to Atlantic City, Baltimore, and Hong Kong, Singapore, and Dubai.
In addition to his culinary ventures, Ramsay has a production company, Studio Ramsay, which has developed and produced various TV shows, including "Culinary Genius" and "Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch." He has also worked on several award-winning TV shows, including "Masterchef," "Masterchef Junior," "Hell's Kitchen," and "Food Court Wars."
Ramsay has received numerous accolades for his work, including an OBE from Queen Elizabeth II for services to the industry. He is married to Tana Ramsay and has five children. He divides his time between Los Angeles and London.
