Greg McLean, a talented Australian writer, director, and producer, began his filmmaking career by writing and directing the acclaimed horror film Wolf Creek, which premiered at the Sundance and Cannes Film festivals and eventually achieved worldwide "cult film" status.
Prior to his success in film, McLean trained as a fine artist and worked as a director in theatre and opera. He then went on to establish Emu Creek Pictures, a production company based in Melbourne, where he wrote, directed, and produced several thrillers, including Rogue and Wolf Creek 2.
McLean's subsequent projects included directing The Darkness for Blumhouse, The Belko Experiment for MGM, and the survival thriller Jungle, which was based on the best-selling book. He also executive produced and directed episodes on two seasons of the Wolf Creek TV series, as well as directing episodes for various TV shows, such as The Gloaming, Bloom, Jack Irish, La Brea, The Twelve, and Scrublands.
In 2024, McLean served as series director for the Netflix series Territory. Recently, he joined forces with fellow director Patrick Hughes and screenwriter James Beaufort to establish Huge Film, a production company focused on producing thriller, action, and horror genre film and television projects for the global marketplace.
