Born Hans Olle Lennart Andersson on January 28, 1948, in the Sankt Pauli parish of Malmö, Sweden, Hasse "Kvinnaböske" Andersson is a renowned country singer and songwriter. His music career flourished in Sweden during the 1980s, earning him significant album success.
Andersson participated in Melodifestivalen 2015, vying for the opportunity to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with his song "Guld och gröna skogar". He secured third place in semi-final 4, held on February 28, 2015, in Örebro, thereby qualifying for the Second Chance round, also known as Andra chansen, on March 7, 2015.
In the Andra chansen round, Andersson engaged in a duel against Kristin Amparo, ultimately emerging victorious and securing a spot in the final. On March 13, 2015, he finished fourth in the final, garnering a total of 78 points, comprising 10 points from international juries and 68 points from Swedish voters.
On September 30, 2016, Sveriges Television (SVT) announced that Andersson would host all six shows of Melodifestivalen 2017 alongside Clara Henry and David Lindgren.
