Heather Hawthorn Doyle has established herself as a distinguished director, renowned for her exceptional storytelling abilities and unwavering dedication to crafting visually stunning and authentic performances across every project she undertakes.
Notably, Heather has earned the respect and trust of producers, production companies, and broadcasters, with whom she has collaborated on numerous occasions. Her impressive repertoire includes working with Sinking Ship Entertainment in Toronto, where she directed three television series: "Dino Dana", "Odd Squad", and "Endlings". Additionally, she has had the privilege of directing films for prominent production companies based in Vancouver, including Hallmark, HMM, Lifetime, and others.
Prior to her work in television, Heather directed a series of shorts for the multi-platform division of the Disney Channel on YouTube, based on their popular series "Gabby Duran & the Unsittables". This experience has further honed her skills in crafting engaging narrative content.
In addition to her television work, Heather has also directed short-form narrative films, including the micro-short "I Don't Want Him Either", which was filmed exclusively in a volume studio, and the heart-wrenching original film "Songbird", which won the 2020 People's Choice Award for favourite short at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival.
Heather's illustrious directing career began in the realm of factual/lifestyle/documentary and multi-camera talk/variety shows. She has had the opportunity to direct numerous popular formats for HGTV, W Network, and CBC, including over 300 episodes of a multi-camera daily talk/variety show for CTV and "Love it or List it Vancouver" for HGTV.
Heather's very first narrative series was the multi-camera teen sitcom "Some Assembly Required" for YTV, produced by Thunderbird Entertainment.
