Hisako Kanemoto was born and raised in Okayama Prefecture, Japan. She attended Kamogata High School, where she developed a passion for the performing arts. After graduating from high school, Kanemoto enrolled in the voice acting course at the Vocational School of Art College Kobe, where she honed her skills and gained valuable experience.
Upon completing her education in 2008, Kanemoto moved to Tokyo and joined the training office associated with Production Baobab agency. Initially, she used the pseudonym Juri Aikawa for her early projects, making her anime debut in Sora no Manimani in 2009. However, she soon gained recognition and landed the lead role in So Ra No Wo To in 2010, after which she announced that she would be using her real name, Hisako Kanemoto, in her future works.
Kanemoto's breakthrough year was 2010, during which she was named Best New Actress at the 5th Seiyuu Awards. She has since become a prominent voice actress in Japan, known for her versatility and range. In addition to her work in anime and video games, Kanemoto has also voiced a number of mascot characters from Okayama Prefecture, a nod to her hometown and cultural heritage.
In 2014, Kanemoto made her debut as a solo musical artist, releasing her album Fantastic Voyage under Victor Entertainment. The album was a commercial success, and Kanemoto has since become a respected and accomplished musician in Japan.
On May 26, 2018, Kanemoto announced on her official blog that she would be taking a hiatus from professional activities to study abroad. Her agency, Production BAOBAB, later confirmed that she would be returning to work in March 2019. Kanemoto's hiatus has allowed her to recharge and refocus, and she is expected to make a triumphant return to the entertainment industry in the near future.
