Dr. Iain Stewart, a renowned Scottish geologist, earned his undergraduate degree in geology and geography from Stathclyde University in Scotland in 1986. He then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy, a prestigious higher research degree, at the University of Bristol in England, submitting his dissertation on Mediterranean earthquakes in 1990.
Following his academic pursuits, Dr. Stewart began his career as a teacher at Brunel University before relocating to the Centre for Geosciences at Glasgow University in 2002. During this time, he conceptualized a television series centered on geology and collaborated with the BBC on the Rough Science program and two Horizon specials, Helike: The Real Atlantis and Earthquake Storms, in 2003.
Since 2004, Dr. Stewart has held the position of Lecturer at the University of Plymouth, while continuing to share his expertise on geology through various broadcasting endeavors.
