Ian Cullen's illustrious acting career began at the tender age of four, when he took to the stage in a village pantomime. This marked the start of a lifelong passion for acting, which has spanned over six decades. His breakout role came in 1962, when he played the iconic character of PC Joe Skinner in the popular television series Z Cars. The character's popularity soared, and Ian's portrayal of the dedicated police officer earned him a household name.
Ian's impressive list of credits includes a range of notable roles in both television and theater. In the 1960s, he appeared in the classic hospital drama Emergency-Ward 10, where he played the role of Warren Kent from 1966 to 1967. He also starred in the BBC series When the Boat Comes In as Geordie Watson from 1977 to 1981. In the 1990s, Ian took on the role of Angus Hart, the original lead in the Channel 5 soap opera Family Affairs. Unfortunately, his character met a tragic end in a shocking boat explosion storyline.
Ian's extensive stage work has seen him perform in numerous productions throughout the country, including eight West End shows. He has also had the privilege of working with the esteemed Royal Shakespeare Company for two years. His performance in the play "Road to the Sea" at the Orange Tree Theatre in 2003 earned him rave reviews.
