Iris was born in Haifa, Israel, a city located on the western coast of the country, to a Turkish father and a mother of Polish and Israeli descent. As a toddler, Iris's family made a significant move to Montreal, Canada, where she would spend the majority of her formative years.
As a young girl, Iris discovered her passion for acting and began performing in stage plays at the tender age of ten. This early introduction to the world of theatre would lay the foundation for her future endeavors.
Iris's academic pursuits took her to Vanier College, where she studied Theatre Arts, and later to Concordia University, where she further honed her skills in the field of Film. Her education and training would serve her well in her future career.
In 1989, Iris made the decision to relocate to Vancouver, British Columbia, a city known for its thriving film and television industry. It was in this new city that Iris would go on to work in a variety of capacities, including film, television, voice overs, and commercials.
