Isabel Rose was born and raised on Manhattan's Upper East Side, where she spent her formative years attending the prestigious Nightingale Bamford and Dalton schools. Her academic prowess earned her a Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Yale University, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in fiction and literature from Bennington College.
As an actress, Rose has made a name for herself on both Off-Broadway and regional stages, starring in productions such as Beau Jest and appearing in numerous shows at the Williamstown Theater Festival. Her notable roles include Tess Kittridge in the first National Tour of Six Degrees of Separation.
In 2003, Rose co-wrote and starred in the film Anything But Love, opposite Andrew McCarthy and Eartha Kitt, which was released by Samuel Goldwyn. The film won several awards, including the Best Up and Coming Actress award at the San Diego Film Festival, and is available on video and DVD, as well as airing regularly on the Starz Encore channel.
In addition to her acting career, Rose is also a talented musician, frequently performing on the New York City nightclub circuit, selling out venues such as Joe's Pub, Opia, Makor, and Helen's. She is currently working on her debut CD.
Rose's literary endeavors include her debut novel, The J.A.P. Chronicles, published by Doubleday in the Spring of 2005, as well as an original musical based on her book, which premiered in the same year.
