Isabelle Fuhrman is a talented actress, recognized for her iconic characters and critically acclaimed performances. She gained fame at the age of ten, starring as Esther Coleman in the Warner Brothers' film Orphan.
In 2021, Fuhrman starred in Lauren Hadaway's directorial debut, The Novice, as Alex Dall. Her performance received widespread acclaim, earning her the Tribeca Film Festival Award for Best Actress and a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead. To prepare for the role, Fuhrman gained 12lbs of muscle and learned how to row at a collegiate level in just two months.
Fuhrman started her acting career at the age of seven in Atlanta, GA, and made her screen debut in the drama Hounddog opposite Dakota Fanning. At the age of ten, she was cast as the star of the 2009 cult horror classic Orphan, after an exhaustive nationwide search for young actresses to portray the lead.
In 2022, Fuhrman reprised her role as 'Esther' in Orphan: First Kill, making cinema history for returning to a role she played as a child, 13 years after the original film's release. The prequel received high marks from film critics, with Fuhrman's performance again being at the forefront of the film's success.
Fuhrman has also starred in Kevin Costner's 4 Part Western Sage Horizon; An American Saga Part 1 (and 2),opposite Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Danny Houston, Giovanni Ribisi, and Luke Wilson. She recently starred in Julia Stiles' directorial debut Wish You Were Here, opposite Kelsey Grammar and Jennifer Grey.
Fuhrman has been involved in various projects, including the blockbuster franchise The Hunger Games, Showtime's critically acclaimed series Masters of Sex, and the award-winning Studio Ghibli film From Up On Poppy Hill. She has also led an all-female cast in Erica Schmidt's off-Broadway adaptation of "Mac Beth" as Macbeth, and has been balancing her studies at Stanford University's EPGY OHS and two intensive courses at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
In addition to her work in front of the screen, Fuhrman has her own production company and has been writing and developing her own projects. She is an ultra-marathon runner, triathlete, skilled guitar and banjo player, western-horseback rider, singer, gourmet cook, and certified holistic doula.
