Ivor Francis was a multifaceted performer who effortlessly transitioned between various mediums, including television, film, radio, and stage. His extensive repertoire on television and in movies was matched only by his impressive range on radio, where he shone in popular shows like "Fibber McGee and Molly".
Francis's impressive stage credits included Broadway productions such as "J.B." alongside the esteemed Christopher Plummer. As the New York theatre scene began to shift towards musicals, Francis made the bold decision to relocate to California, where he continued to work in film, television, and daytime soap operas.
In addition to his impressive performance career, Francis also operated the Ivor Francis Actors Workshop in West Hollywood, where he mentored a diverse group of talented students. Notable alumni of the workshop include Ben Murphy, who went on to star in the popular series "Alias Smith and Jones" (1971); Linda Haynes, known for her roles in "Brubaker" (1980) and "The Drowning Pool" (1975); Mary Douvan, the mother of actress Sandra Dee; and the Goldrup brothers, Tom and Jim, who continue to perform on stage in Santa Cruz County, California.
