Born Leonard Lebitsky on April 24, 1910, Leonard's journey in show business began as a nightclub comedian, where he honed his craft and gained popularity. His big break came when he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jack Paar in 1957, marking the beginning of his rise to fame.
Leonard's talents extended beyond the nightclub and television. He also made comedy records, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
Tragically, Leonard's life was cut short on May 9, 1973, when he suffered a heart attack and collapsed after a performance at the Rainbow Room in New York's Rockefeller Center. Despite undergoing cardiac bypass surgery, Leonard passed away in the hospital the following morning at the age of 63.
