Jack Walsh's educational background is marked by his studies at the Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris, where he honed his skills in mime, dramatic art, clowning, classical and modern dance, fencing, and acrobatics. Additionally, he worked with Nicolas Goeussef of the Philippe Genty company and Roman Paska, a renowned New York marionettist, to develop his expertise in object manipulation and marionette.
Throughout his illustrious career, Jack has performed on nearly every Irish stage, taking on a wide range of iconic roles. He has had the privilege of playing Michael Feeney in Arrah na Pogue at the esteemed Abbey Theatre, Gregor Samsa in Metamorphosis at the Lyric Belfast, and the title role in Arturo Ui at the same venue. His repertoire also includes Bosola in Loose Canon's The Duchess of Malfi, performed at the Project Arts Centre, as well as the transsexual Shannon in Poor Superman, also at the Project Arts Centre.
Jack's impressive resume also boasts performances in Pod in The Borrowers at the Helix, Dan Milligan in Puckoon at the Leicester Square Theatre and Irish tour, Jake in a bilingual (Irish/English) version of Stones in His Pockets for Aisling Ghear, the Swineherd in A Full Moon in March in the Yeats International Festival at the Peacock Theatre, and, in fairness, probably also the chicken he played among other roles in Tarry Flynn, also at the Abbey.
In addition to his extensive stage work, Jack has toured Ireland four times with Guerilla Days in Ireland (33 weeks),and has also played in Barnstorm's The Ice Child at the Watergate in Kilkenny.
As for his screen work, Jack has made notable appearances in Killinaskully, Penny Dreadful, Ripper Street, Moonfleet, Titanic - Blood and Steel, The Escapist, Fair City, and Cumann Na mBan. He has recently appeared as Tom Clarke in TG4's Wrecking the Rising and as the Irish Theologian John Scottus in Vikings.
