Jaikishen Shroff, also known as Jackie Shroff, was born on February 1, 1957, in the Gujarati-speaking Shroff family. His father, Kakubhai, and his brother, Hemant, reside in the family's bungalow, "Le Pepeyon", in Bandra, Bombay.
As a young man, Jaikishen was destined for greatness, and his stardom began to shine in the 1980s. With the advent of television, he rose to prominence, starring in numerous films and cementing his position as a Bollywood legend.
Jaikishen's early days in the film industry saw him playing bit roles, including a villainous part in the hit film "Heera Panna" (1973),starring the iconic Dev Anand. He continued to hone his craft, appearing in another Dev Anand movie, "Swami Dada" (1982).
However, it was Subhash Ghai who catapulted Jaikishen to stardom with the hit film "Hero" (1983),followed by another blockbuster, "Andar Baahar" (1984),alongside Anil Kapoor. Thus, Jaikishen's journey as Jackie Shroff, the Bollywood legend, began.
Since then, there has been no looking back for Jaikishen. He has appeared in close to 150 films, showcasing his versatility in a wide range of roles, including villains, comedians, and even ghosts, as seen in the film "Bhoot Unkle" (2006).
In his personal life, Jaikishen is a devoted husband to his longtime girlfriend, Ayesha Shroff (née Dutt),who is also a producer. Together, they run Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited. They have two children, a son named Jai, nicknamed Tiger, and a daughter named Krishna.
