Biography

Jacqueline Beer, a captivating and striking individual with a striking auburn mane and piercing green orbs that seemed to sparkle with an inner radiance, was born into a background steeped in the traditions and values of a convent education. This upbringing, no doubt, played a significant role in shaping her into the poised and confident young woman she would later become.

In 1954, Jacqueline Beer's life took a dramatic turn when she succeeded Christiane Martel as the crowned Miss France. This prestigious title, a coveted honor among the French beauty pageant community, marked the beginning of a new chapter in Jacqueline's life.

As Miss France, Jacqueline was afforded the opportunity to compete in the esteemed Miss Universe pageant, held in the sun-kissed city of Long Beach, California. Although she ultimately failed to claim the top title, Jacqueline's impressive performance and captivating stage presence did not go unnoticed.

As a consolation prize, Jacqueline secured a two-year contract with the renowned Paramount studio, a testament to her enduring charm and captivating on-screen presence. This contract, no doubt, paved the way for a successful and fulfilling career in the entertainment industry, one that would bring her fame, fortune, and a lifelong passion for the art of acting.

Jacqueline's ascension to fame was met with a mix of excitement and trepidation, as she wrestled with the stigma surrounding beauty contest winners' ability to successfully transition into the competitive world of Hollywood acting. The lingering notion that pageant winners were inherently ill-equipped to tackle the demands of the silver screen weighed heavily on her mind.

Jacqueline's true vocation, in reality, was television, a medium that had the potential to showcase her impressive range and versatility as an actress. Over the course of her career, she secured a series of respectable guest roles in various television shows, including the 1957 western series Maverick, the 1958 western series Bronco, the 1964 comedy series The Rogues, the 1964 spy series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and the 1964 historical drama series Daniel Boone.

Her most notable and enduring role, however, was that of switchboard operator Suzanne Fabray, affectionately known as "Frenchy", in the classic Warner Brothers private detective series 77 Sunset Strip, which aired from 1958 to 1964 and starred the talented Efrem Zimbalist Jr.

Jacqueline, a woman with a storied past, was previously wed to Jean Antoine Garcia Roady, a multifaceted individual who simultaneously worked as an accountant and French instructor. This union, which took place in 1991, marked the beginning of a long and collaborative journey for the couple, as they embarked on numerous archaeological projects together.

Their expeditions took them to various parts of the world, including Peru and Azov, Russia, where they shared a common goal of uncovering the secrets of the past. It was during this time that they embarked on a quest to locate the enigmatic figure of Odin, a mythical being shrouded in mystery and intrigue.

Throughout their travels, Jacqueline and Jean Antoine Garcia Roady worked tirelessly to uncover the hidden treasures of history, their partnership built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and a shared passion for discovery.

After the untimely passing of the renowned anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl in 2002, his dedicated colleague and successor Jacqueline took the reins, assuming the directorship of the esteemed Thor Heyerdahl Research Centre, situated in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, a region steeped in history and academic excellence.

In addition to her role at the research centre, Jacqueline also assumed the chairmanship of the Thor Heyerdahl Institute, located in Larvik, Norway, a country that has a profound appreciation for the contributions of Heyerdahl's work.

Fast forward to 2020, the Thor Heyerdahl Institute underwent a significant transformation, merging with The Museums of Vestfold, a union that has undoubtedly strengthened the organization's capacity to advance knowledge and understanding of the world's cultures, much to the legacy of Heyerdahl's groundbreaking research.
