Jake Busey's childhood was marked by a nomadic lifestyle, similar to a "military brat", as he spent his early years on film sets and touring with his father's bands.
He entered the entertainment industry at the age of 5, making his film debut in "Straight Time" (1977) alongside Dustin Hoffman and Cathy Bates.
After studying acting in college, Jake began auditioning at 20 years old and landed his first role in a PBS film, "Shimmer", shot on location in Iowa.
He gained recognition for his supporting roles in independent films and eventually landed a breakout role as the villain in Showtime's "Rebel Highway" series, "Motorcycle Gang", directed by John Milius.
Jake's big-screen debut came in 1994 with "SFW", followed by roles in "The Frighteners", "Contact", "Enemy of the State", "Home Fries", and "Starship Troopers".
In the early 2000s, he took on starring roles in films like "Identity", "Tomcats", and "The First 20 Million is Always the Hardest", which ultimately led to a hiatus from acting.
After a few years, Jake returned to acting with a cameo in FX's "Justified" and went on to play the role of Sex Machine in Robert Rodriguez's "From Dusk Till Dawn" series.
He has since appeared in projects like "Mr. Robot", "Stranger Things", "Ray Donovan", "NCIS", "Marvel's Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.", and "The Predator".
In his free time, Jake enjoys fatherhood, acting, desert racing, architecture, playing music, flying planes, and fabricating mechanical objects in his metal shop.
