James Kall was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents John and Billie Kall, and is the eldest of four siblings, with three sisters. Growing up in Maple Heights, Ohio, he attended St. Wenceslas Grade School and Holy Name High School before pursuing higher education. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University's School of Speech in Evanston, Illinois, and later received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Yale University School of Drama.
Throughout his career, James has appeared in a wide range of television shows, films, and commercials. Some of his notable credits include "Schitt's Creek", "Christmas in Washington", "It Takes a Christmas Village", "Mayday", "Suits", "Murdoch Mysteries", "Terror in the Country", "Salvation", "Life With Judy Garland", "Queer as Folk", "Impulse", "Quints", and "The Christmas Market".
In addition to his work in television and film, James has an impressive list of professional theatre credits, including numerous productions on Broadway and national tours. He was part of the original Canadian casts of the Tony Award-winning musicals "Kinky Boots" and "Come From Away", and has worked at theaters throughout the United States and Canada as both an actor and a director.
James is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, and currently resides in Toronto with his husband, Randy Mulville.
