James Morrison, professionally known as J.J. Dillon, is a retired American professional wrestler and manager who embarked on a storied career spanning multiple decades. Commencing his journey in the world of wrestling at the age of 29, Dillon initially began as a referee in the early 1970s, gradually transitioning into a wrestler and eventually a manager, accumulating an impressive array of championships and expertly guiding a diverse range of wrestlers across various territories across the United States.
Dillon made his highly anticipated Madison Square Garden debut on April 23, 1984, challenging Tito Santana for the WWE Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship, ultimately succumbing to a pinfall loss courtesy of Santana's devastating flying forearm.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dillon is most notably remembered for his exemplary work as a manager, skillfully guiding numerous wrestlers to singles and tag-team titles within the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). Notably, he achieved his greatest success as the manager of the esteemed Four Horsemen, a formidable faction consisting of the legendary "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, Lex Luger, and Barry Windham.
Following his departure from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in February 1989, Dillon went on to serve as a front office executive for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) until 1997. On April 21, 1997, he made a triumphant return to WCW, assuming the role of on-camera commissioner, a position he held until the fall of 1998. In 2003, Dillon briefly served as an NWA representative in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
In 2009, he made a one-night appearance at Deaf Wrestlefest 2009, teaming up with "Beef Stew" Lou Marconi and "Handsome" Frank Staletto in a six-man tag team match against "Franchise" Shane Douglas, Dominic Denucci, and Cody Michaels.
On December 29, 2019, Dillon joined the esteemed Board of Directors of the International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. Moreover, on March 3, 2021, he made a notable return to TNT, serving as manager for Tully Blanchard on an episode of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Dynamite.
