Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, James's initial foray into the world of acting took place in his elementary school days, when he donned a motorcycle helmet to portray an astronaut in the Grade 4 musical production of "The Popcorn Man".
However, it wasn't until 2010 that James embarked on a journey of self-discovery and said "yes" to his heart's desire to pursue a career in acting, opting to relocate to the picturesque city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Since then, James has consistently earned credits to his name on a wide range of theatrical, commercial, and television projects, including the popular Netflix series Avatar: The Last Airbender, as well as The Flash, Arrow, Zoo, Lucifer, The Killing, and numerous made-for-television movies on Hallmark and Lifetime.
One of his most memorable performances was a guest starring role on Level Up, Cartoon Network's animated series, where James portrayed Hideo Nishiyama, a Japanese multi-billionaire game designer hell-bent on destroying his arch rival Max Ross, played by Lonny Ross.
Not only was this project one of the most enjoyable James has ever worked on, but it also holds the record for the most costume changes and hair extensions used in a single production - an impressive feat indeed.
James attributes his success as a sought-after Vancouver Asian actor to his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. Be sure to catch him in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, now streaming on Netflix.
