Born in Toronto to a South African-Jewish family, Jamie's journey in the world of performing arts began at the tender age of six, with her first stage appearance in a theatre production that would ultimately serve as a catalyst for her future success. As she continued to hone her craft, it became increasingly evident that film and television was where her true passion lay, and her love for acting soon blossomed into a lengthy and impressive resume of television and film credits spanning a decade.
Fast-forward to January 2016, when Jamie will make her debut as Yael Baron, a tech-savvy and ambitious entrepreneur, in the popular television series Degrassi: Next Class. Additionally, that same year will see the release of the feature film The History of Love, in which Jamie brings to life the feisty and charismatic character of Zoey Schwartz, a short-haired Brooklynite with a penchant for speaking her mind.
Prior to these upcoming productions, Jamie had already made a name for herself in the industry with a string of notable credits, including Wingin' It, Flirting with 40, The Killing Game, The Echo, Servitude, Warehouse 13, and animated television shows Caillou and Mr. Moon.
But Jamie's talents extend far beyond the realm of acting, as she is also a passionate filmmaker with a keen eye for storytelling. Her skills as a writer have inspired her to pursue a career in screenwriting, and she will soon be debuting her skills both behind and in front of the camera in her upcoming short film, Reflection, a testament to her versatility and dedication to her craft.
