Jason Cermak, the younger of two children, embarked on an adventure-filled childhood in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada, where he enthusiastically pursued every sport and academic extracurricular activity the small rural town had to offer. As a youth, Jason's boundless energy and curiosity led him to explore various interests, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
Later, Jason attended the University of Calgary, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree. During his time at the university, Jason's athletic pursuits took center stage as he began a 12-year career in track and field, specializing in the decathlon.
After completing his degree in 2000, Jason's acting career began to take shape. A serendipitous encounter with Matt Damon on the set of "The Bourne Identity" in Prague, where Jason was living at the time, sparked his interest in the world of film and television. This chance meeting inspired Jason to take the leap and secure an agent, subsequently beginning his training as a professional actor.
Jason's approach to his acting career was unique, as he chose to use his commerce degree to support himself while gradually transitioning to a full-time acting career. Following his graduation, Jason worked as a university instructor and an IT consultant for Deloitte, all while pursuing his passion for film and television on the side.
In 2006, Jason made the bold decision to resign from his job and relocate to Melbourne, Australia, where he took a chance on a self-tape audition for the Canadian First World War film Passchendaele. To his surprise, Jason landed a role in the film, marking a turning point in his career. He subsequently shifted his focus to acting full-time, while continuing to own and operate an IT consulting company on the side.
