Jason began his filmmaking journey at the tender age of 10, when he first picked up a camera and started creating independent short films that would later evolve into some of his most controversial and challenging feature-length works.
After a few years of honing his craft, Jason enrolled in Bedford College at the age of 16, where he studied media and gained a GNVQ, A/S, and BTEC National Diploma. During his time at college, he continued to make student films, with his final assignment being the heavy art house short film "The Evil Within", which marked the beginning of his exploration of themes related to self-harm and inner demons, a subject that would become a recurring motif in his work.
Upon completing his studies, Jason left college at the age of 19 and began working as a freelance filmmaker, wearing many hats, including directing, producing, writing, cinematography, acting, and editing. Due to financial constraints, he often took on multiple roles within his productions, including acting, to fill gaps and ensure the completion of his projects.
Jason's early success was marked by his win for best film at the "Zombies in the Wood" festival in 2004. Following this, he went on to make a series of short films, many of which gained festival and TV screenings, before moving on to create his first full-length feature film, "Sick Bastard", which secured several DVD distribution deals.
Since then, Jason has continued to produce a wide range of short and feature films, with many of his works available worldwide. While he is perhaps best known for his work in the horror genre, he has also explored social dramas and other styles.
Jason remains a self-shooting filmmaker, known for his raw and DIY approach to filmmaking. He has directed for TV shows and music videos, as well as his own films, and has collaborated on various projects as a director of photography and editor. He has also gained a reputation for reusing and recycling footage from his earlier works in his later projects.
In addition to his filmmaking endeavors, Jason also works as a facilitator, camera operator, and editor for film workshops across the UK, providing opportunities for others to learn the art of filmmaking and bring their visions to life.
