Jason Matthewson, born on May 16th 1986, in Donegal, Ireland, is an Irish-American actor. He is the eldest of his siblings, with two brothers, Shane and Christopher. Jason started his acting career at the age of 10, participating in school plays and amateur theatrics in his hometown of Rathmullan.
He continued acting in stage productions, taking part in acting lessons at school and building on his experience by acting in school plays and musicals. After completing high school in 2005, Jason studied at the Stella Adler conservatory in LA, where he honed his craft alongside renowned alumni such as Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Sydney Pollack, and Martin Sheen.
After training in LA, Jason moved back to Dublin to study at the Gaiety School of Acting, where he joined local production companies in Ireland and the UK, working in Theatre, TV, and Film, and receiving great reviews from national media and press.
In 2009, Jason decided to return to Los Angeles to further his acting career, where he has consistently worked in TV and Film. He has appeared in various projects, including Black Ice, The Dark Return Of Time, Hunter Killer, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Karmaa.
Jason's most recent credits and current projects include the lead in his forthcoming film 21 Files, alongside Oscar-winning actor Giancarlo Giannini, E4's Glue, E TV's The Royals, ITV's Mr Selfridge, Episode 3 of a new Sky series, and the lead in a TV pilot called Private Detectives. He has also recently completed Beautiful Devils, Modern Life Is Rubbish, and Allied, starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard.
Jason will be seen guest starring on season 5 of Showtime's Episodes with Matt LeBlanc, and in the latest Jason Bourne film directed by Paul Greengrass, The Mummy with Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe, Hunter Killer alongside Gerard Butler and Gary Oldman, and the fifth instalment of Michael Bay's Transformers franchise.
