Jaysen Buterin, Creative Director of Mad Ones Films, has been dedicated to unleashing the unbridled creativity of his cinematic asylum since 2006. With a focus on character-driven, dialogue-rich independent short films, he has crafted a diverse range of genres, including Faustian rock & roll thrillers, dark deadly comedies, and femme fatale fantasies.
Notably, Buterin spent four years writing, directing, and masterminding the epic short film trilogy, "The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus." Initially released as three separate short films, this multiple award-winning set of sinful stories is a thrilling ride that blends the style of "Twilight Zone" and Tarantino, with a Shakespearean spaghetti western twist.
Following the completion of the HPJ Trilogy, Jaysen turned his attention to a variety of projects, both behind and in front of the camera. He has appeared in supporting roles in films such as "Bombshell Bloodbath" and "Fix It In Post," and has acted alongside legendary actress Judith O'Dea in "Night of the Living Dead: Genesis." He has also been seen in numerous award-winning short films, including "Knob Goblins," "Loop," "Born Again," "Mama's Boy," and "Identity Thieves."
More comfortable behind the camera, Buterin has directed and written several award-winning projects, including "Between Hell and a Hard Place," a terrifying tale of revenge from beyond the grave, and "Don't Let the Light In," a thrilling and chilling short film. His most recent project, "The Corner," showed that sometimes, home can be where the horror is.
Currently, Buterin is in pre-production on his first feature-length film, "Kill Giggles," a coulrophobia-courting/clown killing goodness that is sure to send chills down the spines of audiences everywhere.
