Jeff Kurr, a renowned shark filmmaker, has produced and directed over 60 documentary films for Discovery's Shark Week, showcasing his exceptional skills and dedication to the field. His impressive portfolio includes the critically acclaimed AIR JAWS franchise, comprising 16 episodes, and the GREAT WHITE SERIAL KILLER franchise, boasting 8 episodes, which have become some of the highest-rated series in Shark Week history.
As he enters his 34th season at Shark Week, Jeff has had numerous unforgettable encounters with great white sharks, serving as a cinematographer, expedition leader, and occasional on-camera talent. He has played a significant role in discovering and developing many of Discovery's Shark Week "stars," and has also been a prominent spokesman for the event, appearing on various television programs such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Fox News, CNN, EXTRA, and many others.
Born in California, Jeff attended San Diego State and has raised college-bound twins. Despite his many accomplishments, he finds his most rewarding achievement to be helping make sharks the most popular wild animals on the planet, inspiring future generations of filmmakers, marine biologists, and shark conservationists.
