Jeff McCracken, a multifaceted individual with a rich background in the entertainment industry, grew up in Chicago and graduated from Evanston Township High School.
He went on to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City, where he honed his craft under the guidance of renowned instructors Sanford Meisner, Bill Alderson, Stella Adler, Jack Garfein, and Larry Moss.
Throughout his career, Jeff has made a significant impact on the stage, starring in numerous productions on Broadway, off-Broadway, and at Circle Repertory Company in New York City. He has had the privilege of originating roles in new works by notable playwrights such as Lanford Wilson, Beth Henley, and Lee Kalcheim.
In addition to his work on stage, Jeff has also had a successful career in television, with notable roles in series such as Bay City Blues (1983) and Waiting for the Light (1990). He was also involved in the production of the feature film Pastime (1990),which won the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
Jeff's work in television has been extensive, with credits including over seventy episodes of NYPD Blue (1993) and the development, production, and direction of numerous shows such as Boy Meets World (1993),Dinosaurs (1991),Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane (1999),and many others.
As a director, Jeff has had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including the critically acclaimed Quiz Show (1994),which received an Academy Award nomination and numerous awards, including the New York Film Critics Award for Best Picture.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Jeff is also a talented painter, with his work featured in publications such as "The Guide Artists Magazine" and other international publications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Goddard College and has taught at various institutions, including Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, NYU Tisch Film School, and The Writer's Workshop.
Throughout his career, Jeff has been a member of several guilds, including the Directors Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, Actors' Equity Association, and the Directors Guild of Canada.
