Jeff Bezos was born in San Francisco, California, and spent his childhood in San Jose, where he was the youngest of three siblings. His father, Bill, was a renowned mathematician who worked at NASA's Ames Research Center until his untimely death in 1969. Jeff's mother, Helen, a Stanford graduate and retired registered nurse, still resides in the Bay Area. His brother, John, is a geophysicist, and his sister, Janet, is a probate attorney.
After initially exploring a career in broadcasting, Jeff pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1985. He further honed his craft through training with Eric Morris and workshops led by members of the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Tony Church and Patrick Stewart.
