Jeremy Bloom, a renowned American freestyle skier, was born on April 2, 1982, in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is the son of Char Bloom, a ski and fly-fishing instructor, and Larry Bloom, a psychology professor at Colorado State University.
Growing up, Jeremy, along with his older siblings Molly and Jordan, developed a passion for skiing at Keystone Resort, where his mother is a ski instructor. At the age of 15, Jeremy joined the US Freestyle Ski Team, and by 19, he had become the world's number one ranked men's freestyle skier.
Jeremy's impressive skills earned him a spot in the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, where he finished ninth. He also dominated the 2002 US Nationals, taking home the top spot. The athlete's remarkable journey was documented in an MTV special, and he even landed a modeling gig with Tommy Hilfiger Jeans, modeling alongside Lauren Bush, the president's niece.
Before pursuing his skiing career, Jeremy attended Loveland High School, where he excelled in both football and track. He was the star football player and a two-time state champion in track. The University of Colorado offered him a five-year scholarship to play football, but due to NCAA regulations, Jeremy was forced to give up his skiing endorsements and compete in football.
Despite this setback, Jeremy remained committed to his love for football and chose to play as a wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes. Currently, he is a sophomore at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Jeremy's passion for skiing has not wavered, and he is planning to compete for the US Freestyle team this winter, training for the 2006 Winter Games in Italy.
