Jeremy Burnham, a multi-talented English actor-writer, was born in Yorkshire and later educated at the prestigious Stowe School. He further honed his craft by training at the renowned Old Vic Theatre School in London.
Burnham's impressive stage career included numerous West End plays, such as Robert Morley's "Hippo Dancing", E.M. Forster's "A Passage to India", and the anonymously published "The Rehearsal". He was the only individual to have simultaneously appeared in and written for the iconic cult TV series "The Avengers" in 1961.
In addition to his work on "The Avengers", Burnham wrote for various other British TV series, including "When the Boat Comes In" in 1976, "Minder" in 1979, and "Inspector Morse" in 1987. His most notable contribution, however, is arguably his co-authorship of the cult TV series "Children of the Stones" in the 1970s. A sequel, "Return to the Stones", was published in 2013.
Throughout his illustrious career, Jeremy Burnham left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. His passing on December 31, 2020, was a significant loss to the industry and his fans.
