Jess Weixler is a talented American actress, known for her versatility in playing a wide range of roles in films and television shows. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Weixler graduated from Atherton High School in 1999, where she was an active member of the Walden Theatre Conservatory Program, The River City Players acting group, and the Chamber Singers choral group.
After attending Juilliard, where she was a classmate of Jessica Chastain, Weixler went on to participate in the first year of Bruce Brubaker's InterArts performance project. Her early career saw her starring in the comedy-horror film Teeth and the comedy The Big Bad Swim, among other projects.
In 2007, Weixler received critical acclaim for her performance in Teeth, earning her a Breakthrough Award nomination at the Gotham Awards and a Special Jury Prize in the Dramatic category at the Sundance Film Festival. She also appeared in the TV series Law & Order: Criminal Intent during this time.
The following year, Weixler was named the "New Indie Queen" of the year by New York magazine and one of the fourteen "New Yorkers you need to know" in January 2009. This recognition marked a significant milestone in her career, solidifying her status as a rising star in the entertainment industry.
In 2013, Weixler joined the cast of the CBS series The Good Wife, playing the role of investigator Robyn Burdine. That same year, she appeared in the film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, which was written specifically for her.
Weixler also turned her hand to writing, co-writing and co-starring in the film Apartment Troubles with her friend and former roommate Jennifer Prediger. The film premiered at the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival and was later picked up by Gravitas Ventures for theatrical and VOD distribution in March 2015.
In addition to her work in film and television, Weixler has also ventured into the world of music, joining the cast of the thriller film Money in 2015, alongside Jamie Bamber, Kellan Lutz, and Jesse Williams.
In her personal life, Weixler is married to Hamish Brocklebank, a British businessman and co-founder of Flooved.
