Jill Jaress, the CEO of "Got A Laugh Entertainment", marked a significant milestone in February 2012 by completing her full-length romantic comedy, 1 Nighter, which she wrote, produced, directed, and starred in alongside Golden Globe nominee Timothy Bottoms.
Her first film, Someone to Love, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, captivating a standing-room-only audience in the short film corner. The film went on to win the Broad Humor Film Festival, was a finalist in several prestigious film festivals, including the academy-qualifying USA Film Festival and the Queens International Film Festival, and was honored in the Accolade Awards.
At "Got a Laugh Entertainment", Jaress aims to produce commercially successful, uplifting comedies and family films that bring joy to audiences worldwide. Her company is currently developing several projects, including Someone to Love, two outstanding romantic comedy feature scripts titled "Forever Yours?" and "Love to Steal", and an outstanding family fantasy, "The Christmas Spirit".
In addition to her film work, Jaress has also written a comprehensive how-to book for actors, "Acting: Everything My Agent Never Told Me", which features 54 chapters of business advice for aspiring actors, as well as one-on-one interviews with industry professionals such as Steve Martin, Martin Landau, top casting directors, agents, writers, directors, and producers.
Jaress has received numerous accolades for her work, including winning the WGA Producers Access Program with "The Christmas Spirit" script, which was also a finalist in the screen-writing division of the Cinema City International Film Festival. She won an Excellence in Writing award for her full-length feature script based on her short, Someone to Love, and has written for several TV series, including Safe at Home, and a play titled "Rude Awakening", which was honored in the Writers' Digest Competition and included in the Audrey Skirball-Kenis California Play Collection.
On stage, Jaress has starred in the musical, "Dean", on the West End in London, and appeared alongside Pierce Brosnan in Tennessee Williams' play, "Red Devil Battery Sign", in London.
