Jim Foronda is a Texas-based voice actor, freelance ad copywriter, and cyborg. He has a unique career path that began in 2001 when he was writing commercials for Hasbro Toys and ended up being cast as multiple characters, including Cobra Commander, Duke, Heavy Duty, and a British reporter, due to a budget miscalculation on a G.I.Joe campaign.
As a voice actor, Jim has worked on numerous projects, including anime shows like Dragon Ball Z, Case Closed, Panty & Stocking, Solty Rei, and more, as well as video games such as Spikeout: Battle Street, Unreal Championship 2, and the Borderlands franchise. He has also voiced characters in various other anime and video game titles.
In 2013, Jim's day job as an ad copywriter for Hasbro quit him when the company changed ad agencies. He decided to turn this layoff into an opportunity and pursue voice acting full-time. Since then, he has voiced a wide range of characters in anime and video games, including Muscular in My Hero Academia, Luxion in Trapped In A Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, Poncho Panacotta in How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom, and many more.
In his personal life, Jim enjoys photography, playing video and tabletop games, taking trips to Japan, building LEGO structures, and working on a novel that he may never finish. He is married to Karin and they have three cats named Takkyubin, Momiji, and Ikaruga. Jim was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 8 and wears an insulin pump, which makes him a cyborg in a medical sense. Despite this, he has not yet developed superhuman abilities like jumping over houses or lifting cars with his bare hands.
