Jim Martin's life journey began in 1968, when he took his first breath in the city of Pittsburgh. As a young individual with a passion for the performing arts, he pursued a Bachelor's degree in directing and acting at Point Park College. This educational foundation would later serve as a springboard for his career as a puppeteer.
One of Martin's earliest and most notable performances was in the 1984 film, The Muppets Take Manhattan, produced by Sony. This cinematic endeavor marked the beginning of his association with the beloved Muppets franchise.
In addition to his work on The Muppets Take Manhattan, Martin also appeared in several television specials, including The Muppets at Walt Disney World (1990),which was filmed during a poignant time in the history of the franchise, as Jim Henson had passed away just a few years prior. The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson (1990) was another television special in which Martin was involved, this time serving as a tribute to the late Jim Henson.
Martin's television production credits are equally impressive, with notable works including Dog City (1992),a production for the Fox Broadcasting Company; Bear in the Big Blue House (1997),which aired on Playhouse Disney; The Puzzle Place (1994); and Between the Lions (1999),a Public Broadcasting Service program.
