Jo Anderson was born on June 29th in Brooklyn, New York, where she began her life's journey. As a child, she grew up in the suburban community of Tenafly, New Jersey, surrounded by a loving family with three siblings, including herself, as one of four children.
At the tender age of fourteen, Jo discovered her passion for writing poetry and prose, which would become a lifelong pursuit. She further honed her skills by attending Adelphi University on Long Island, New York. This multifaceted individual is a woman of many talents, having studied dance for years, and is a writer, poet, and actress. Her acting and dancing career began in Manhattan, where she performed in numerous theatrical productions on and off Broadway.
In 1985, Jo took center stage, starring in the one-woman play "Marie", which she had written about the renowned Marie Curie. This marked a significant milestone in her career. Later, she relocated to Los Angeles in the mid-1980s, marking a new chapter in her life.
Jo has had the privilege of studying with the esteemed actor Michael Moriarty and is a proud member of the prestigious Actor's Studio. Her extensive training also includes the Chekhov Studio, the Lecoq Improvisation and Clowning, and the Comedia del Arte.
Throughout her illustrious career, Jo has appeared in numerous television shows, films, and TV movies. Recently, she starred in the film "Fat Rose and Squeaky" and has made guest appearances in popular shows such as "CSI" and "Eleventh Hour".
