Biography

Jo Enright is a renowned English stand-up comedian and talented actress, having made a significant impact in the world of television and radio comedy. Her impressive career has seen her appear in numerous programmes, earning her recognition for her versatile performances.

Enright's journey in the entertainment industry began in 1995, when she made her Edinburgh Festival debut as part of the three-hander The West Midland's Serious Comedy Squad. Her early work laid the foundation for her future success, which soon followed.

In 2002, Enright showcased her talents alongside Steve Coogan in episode five, series two of the BBC comedy I'm Alan Partridge, playing a tax inspector investigating the titular character. Her exceptional skills in comedy soon earned her a spot in the BBC Radio 4 series The Ape that Got Lucky, where she collaborated with Chris Addison in 2005.

Enright's television appearances continued to impress, with her role in the BBC Two comedy series Time Trumpet in 2006. In this programme, she played herself as a commentator in the year 2031, looking back on the world nearly thirty years before. Her talent for comedy and versatility as an actress were further showcased in her role as Cara McIlvenny in the BBC comedy series Lab Rats, which she joined in July 2008.

In 2008, Enright played wheelchair-user Jackie, a member of the fictional "2 Up, 2 Down", in Peter Kay's Britain's Got the Pop Factor... and Possibly a New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly on Ice, a parody of the talent show genre. Her impressive performances continued, with her role as "Carol" in the fifth and sixth series of the BBC Three sitcom Ideal, which she began in 2009.

Enright's talents were further showcased in her role as Sue, Warwick Davis's estranged wife, in Ricky Gervais's and Stephen Merchant's television comedy series Life's Too Short in 2011. In 2012, she appeared as baker Sharon in the Sky1 sitcom Trollied, demonstrating her ability to excel in a variety of comedic roles.

From April 2013 until November 2015, Enright played the role of officious job centre worker Angela Bromford in the ITV2 comedy series The Job Lot. Her exceptional performances in this programme cemented her position as a talented and versatile comedian.
