Biography

Jo Yuri is a South Korean actress and singer born on October 22nd, 2001, in Busan, South Korea. She is a former member of the South Korean-Japanese girl group IZ*ONE and is currently under the label WakeOne Entertainment.

Jo Yuri gained recognition after participating in Mnet's reality television shows. In July 2017, she participated in Idol School, where she finished in 15th place, and in May 2018, she participated in Produce 48, where she finished in 3rd place.

As one of the successful participants, Jo Yuri debuted as a member of IZ*ONE on October 29th, 2018, with the release of "Color*Iz." She was part of the group until its disbandment on April 29th, 2021.

In 2021, Jo Yuri released her first single album "Glassy" with the title track of the same name. She was nominated for several awards, including Rookie of the Year at the 36th Golden Disc Awards, Best New Female Artist at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Rookie of the Year at the 31st Seoul Music Awards.

Jo Yuri also ventured into acting, making her debut in the Playlist Studio web series Mimicus (2022). She also made a special appearance in episodes 7 and 10 of the second season of Work Later, Drink Now (2021) as Si Eun, a juvenile delinquent. Her performance was praised by critics, who noted her natural acting and strong impression.

In June 2023, it was announced that Jo Yuri had been cast in the second season of the Netflix television series Squid Game (2024),playing Kim Jun-hee (No. 222).
